Ways to Promote Art

As soon as I possibly can (prior to mid-June), 
I'll be working on a new animal sculpt.
My old high school's alumni association
is having a reunion dinner for all past graduates.
It will be an all day thing, starting with a breakfast
and, later, a dinner and a dance.
Door prizes will be given out,
and people are being encouraged to donate something as a prize.
Making the most of the opportunity,
I plan on trying to sculpt a clay cougar to donate,
since our school mascot is a cougar.
I'm constantly trying to look for simple ways to promote my art, and
I figure it could be a good promotional move to get people aware of what I do.

What do you do (that is simple and inexpensive) to get your art seen?
